Career / Break Coach
As a Career Break Coach, I help professionals explore their future options and prepare for selection processes with confidence, clarity and optimism.
I’m a Chartered Psychologist and accredited Career Coach. I have also taken two career breaks and vividly remember the highs and lows of this period, alongside the challenges of returning to the workplace. I have 35+ years' experience of personal development and coaching roles in Financial Services, Higher Education and the Cabinet Office and have supported people who have taken career breaks for all sorts of reasons. For example:
- Caring responsibilities (children, ageing parents)
- Health and Well-Being
- Career Change or Transition
- Travel and Education
- Life events (re-location, divorce, bereavement, redundancy)
It’s estimated that a third of us will take a career break during our lives and a quarter of us will be away from the workplace for more than 12 months.
Career breaks can be a reflective and energising time to think about where you go next. You can identify your strengths and values, alongside the working pattern, culture and environment where you will flourish. Every situation is different and there is a kaleidoscope of questions, thoughts and feelings which can emerge. Personal confidence may take a dip, particularly if the career break is enforced.
How can you be sure you are making good choices and perhaps, managing yourself differently next time? That's where I can help you.
My Registration Number is 11161875 to verify my status as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

As a psychologist, I can work safely and ethically with deeper issues influencing career satisfaction — such as self-belief, imposter feelings, perfectionism, or burnout. Often these feelings can surface when we have time away from the workplace and feel determined to manage things differently next time around.
I have developed and managed many selection processes during my career including interviews with a range of questioning techniques, presentations and assessment days. I can help you to manage your preparation to ensure you deliver with confidence and impact.
I identify as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), a concept first developed by Elaine Aron in the 1990s, and have successfully supported neuro-diverse individuals through additional challenges they may face when applying for roles and returning to work. I also work as a volunteer Career Coach for the NHS, SmartWorks and the University of East London.
I offer flexible coaching packages and encourage 'walk and talk' sessions, in-person meetings at agreed locations (West or South-West London) or online discussions. Single sessions start at £125 with discounted fees for packages.
